With more than ten years of experience in the field of communication and project management (especially in the field of public policy contracts), Jiska has a large amount of experience in managing and coordinating budgets, contracts, people and events. As a Dutch national, she speaks Dutch and English fluently and has a good knowledge of German, French as well as some basic knowledge of Spanish.
EU Affairs Manager
Charis Girvalaki is the EU Affairs Manager of the European Cancer Patient Coalition. She has a ten-year experience in European and International projects (Horizon2020, CHAFEA 3rd Health Programme, Global Bridges - Pfizer Independent Grants, Mayo Clinic) in the field of Public Health, Tobacco Control and Tobacco Treatment Delivery. Charis has worked with a wide range of key players and stakeholders, including European (DG SANTE) and governmental institutions, academia, health services, local authorities. She was previously collaborating with European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP) as the Project Manager of EPACTT-2 project , leading the development of European guidelines and an accredited eLearning on treating tobacco dependence in 15 European languages. Charis graduated from Chemistry Department, University of Crete, Greece. She holds a master’s degree in Public Health and Healthcare Management specialized in Epidemiology and a PhD from Medical School, University of Crete, Greece. She is also a Tobacco Treatment Specialist certified by Mayo Nicotine Dependence Center, Rochester Minnesota. She is fluent in English and Greek.
Partnerships & Communication Manager
Clémence Morinière is ECPC’s Partnerships and Communication Manager. For more than ten years she has been working in communications applied to EU affairs and social fields (health, inclusion, poverty, education). She has been involved in projects with European institutions, civil society organisations and citizens with the aim of improving their mutual understanding. Her professional experience includes communication strategies and off-line/online campaigns aimed at raising visibility and awareness, conveying messages to convince influencers, decision-makers, donors, the media and the general public to commit, to donate or to change their mind-set. Her ambition is to create strong messages and forge creative concepts that will catch one’s attention and have a real impact. Today she aims at empowering ECPC Members, ensuring cooperation at EU level, raising awareness and promoting effective campaigns intending for a good life for all based on health, security, equality and education. She holds a master’s in Communications and European Affairs and a master’s degree in Information and Communication Trades. She has previously worked with Médecins du Monde and in EU communication consultancies. She speaks French, English and Spanish.
Partnerships & Communications Officer
Paulína Gono is the Partnerships and Communications Officer at the European Cancer Patient Coalition. She graduated from the Comenius University in Bratislava where she studied journalism. During her studies she experienced an Erasmus mobility at Sapienza University in Rome. Before she joined ECPC she worked in media and in NGOs in Belgium focusing on communication and event management. She gained the first experience in health sector on the European level through an organization EUFAMI focusing on families affected by mental ill health. She was involved in fundraising, campaigning and event organization of an art exhibition dedicated to raise an awareness about mental illnesses. Paulina is fluent in English and Slovak and has a good knowledge of French.
Health & Research Officer
Chris is an Administrative Assistant with ECPC where he assists in the Financial Department and supports with administrative and logistical assistance. Chris worked in IT at the head office of Allianz for several years before leaving to help smaller organisation setup their IT infrastructures. Following this endeavour, he enrolled in Drama School to study acting and directing for 4 years. After completion of his studies he worked in the profession in a variety of roles from children’s comedies to Shakespearian tragedies. He has lived in Belgium for over 8 years where he continued to work in the arts and for the European Public Health Alliance before taking on his position with ECPC. He is fluent in English and has great command of Dutch.
EU Policy Assistant
Matias Olsen is ECPC’s EU Policy Assistant. He holds a Bachelors’ degree in Political Science from the University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway and is specialised in comparative politics with a Masters’ degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo. In his role, Matias supports ECPC advocacy and policy initiatives drawing on his political science background and experience with European policy. Prior to completing his studies he worked with European policy as leader of the International Committee of the National Union of Students – Norway. Matias first worked with cancer patients as a nursing assistant and later in the claims department of the Norwegian Social Security Administration before he switched his role from claims to the control department, where he worked with the coordination of social security within the EU/EFTA. Matias speaks fluent English, Spanish and Norwegian, has good working knowledge of German and is currently learning French.
